Pilates Instructor

Helen is a qualified Pilates Instructor and Personal Trainer.
As a child she trained for 18 years as a ballet dancer under tutelage of Dorothea Ashbridge, one of New Zealand’s top instructors.
With the world recognised body building coaching from Environment Penrose, Helen won the title of Miss Oceania 2003 for Amateur Shape Body Building. In the same year she placed 3rd in Miss Fitness.
Before discovering Pilates, Helen qualified as a Personal Trainer through AUT. She is now a Pilates Instructor (Pilates International) a commitment that takes 7,500 hours of training!
Helen has found a background in dance and movement built her skills in Pilates like no other. Dance and movement lead to an understanding of correct body alignment, a fundamental practice of Pilates.
Combined with her expertise in Cardio Fitness and weight training, Helen has achieved a complete balanced fitness regime Helen had 14 years plus in the Fitness Industry. She has worked as a Body Balance Instructor for Les Mills, a Pilate instructor for Precision Pilates (curriculum Pilates International) and was contracted to Tuakau Physio and CNS Chiropractic specialising in rehabilitation. In 2014 Helen became a certified Barre Instructor and was teaching in Perth with PFI (method Barre Attack, Booty Barre.)
As a student with Pilates my training was with Elena Philp. Once I had mastered Pilates International I had the opportunity to learn other Pilate repertoire such as Rael, Body Arts and Science, Polestar and Stott’s.
As a rehabilitation instructor Helen trains clients in sports conditioning, flexibility and core strengthening. She tailors the programs to meet the individual’s special requirements.
