Reputation

At Peak Pilates & Physiotherapy our reputation means everything. The majority of our clients have been referred to us by word-of-mouth and many of our clients have been with us since we started in 2003. This speaks volumes.

But we are not content to sit back. Rather, we have many systems in place to ensure we continue to achieve true world-class status.

  • An accredited practice
  • Monthly internal audits
  • Regular in-service trainings
  • Up-to-date Continued Professional Development for all staff
  • World-renowned instructors to teach us the latest Pilates techniques and developments
  • High quality studios and equipment

Peak Pilates & Physiotherapy instructors are highly trained and only receive certification from the company after 140 hours of training (mostly one on one) followed by six months of teaching. We have a full-time quality control qualified physiotherapist and Pilates Director regularly assessing and developing all our instructors’ skills.

We are fortunate to have a variety of health professionals regularly referring their patients to us and we have formed close relationships with many doctors, physiotherapists, chiropractors and podiatrists. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact one of the Directors or studio managers.

ACCREDITATION

Peak Pilates & Physiotherapy is owned and managed by Lorna and Jason Richardson.

Lorna is trained in the Biokinetik Exercise Technique (BET) which is a physiotherapy exercise rehabilitation method based on the theories of Joseph Pilates. Jason has trained with the UK Pilates Institute and Stott Pilates.

All trainers at our studios are experienced Pilates instructors and many are qualified physiotherapists. Together, we can work with you to achieve maximum, tailored results, whatever your need.

Directors

Jason Richardson - Director

Jason was a top ranked junior tennis player in New Zealand and played professionally overseas. In 1992 he trained with the US Professional Tennis Association where he qualified as a coach. He went on to teach in Australia, Europe and Hong Kong.

A back injury led to his interest, enthusiasm and belief in the benefits of Pilates and he went on to train at the internationally respected Pilates Institute in London and with Stott Pilates.

Jason opened the first Peak Pilates studio in Newmarket in 2003 and has successfully guided the company through its extraordinary growth. The company now boasts five studios, over 40 staff and hundreds of clients reaping the benefits of Pilates on a daily basis.

Lorna Richardson - Director

B.Sc (Hons) Physio (UK), MCSP, RPT (Hong Kong), RPT NZ

Lorna is from the UK where she gained an honours degree in physiotherapy. She represented her country in athletics and gymnastics, which fuelled her interest in the Biokinetik Exercise Technique (BET). This is a physiotherapy exercise rehabilitation method based on the theories of Joseph Pilates.

Lorna was trained by the founders of this technique - currently the only Pilates based technique that has supporting research showing that BET reduces back and neck pain.

She has been teaching both floor and machine Pilates for over twelve years and is also trained in holistic treatments such as Body Talk - a mind body healing system.
