General Manager, Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor

Emma is the general manager at our St. Heliers studio. She began her career as a professional dancer and choreographer before becoming a physiotherapist. She began doing Pilates to manage her own back injuries and was so impressed she became an instructor! Emma and her husband moved to New Zealand from the UK in 2005 where she has since become a master Pilates instructor and physiotherapy mentor. She loves shopping and spending time with her husband and their puppy Nanuk.

Pilates Manager

Dearne is our Pilates Manager and the Aussie in our team. After completing her Bachelor of Applied Science (Human movement) Degree she discovered the wonders of the Pilates /Physio fusion due to injuries sustained from her own competitive running. She went on to study Pilates at both the UK Institute and Stott. Dearne has been teaching for over 8 years now, owning her own studio for 3 of those. She loves socialising and a good wine, travelling, jogging and water skiing.

Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor

Kirstin is Senior Physiotherapist and has her post graduate diplomas’ in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Acupuncture (PAANZ registered). Originally from South Africa, she has lived and worked in the UK before finally settling in lovely New Zealand. She is an enthusiastic physiotherapist with a love for life, mountain biking, running, swimming, rock climbing, tramping... in fact most outdoor activities. She is passionate about rehabilitation and had found Pilates to be an excellent rehabilitation tool for everyone from sportsmen to chronic back pain sufferers.

 

Gina Grogan

Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor

As a qualified physiotherapist from AUT, Gina has a passion for musculoskeletal injuries. She believes in the many benefits of combining physiotherapy with Pilates exercise rehabilitation and working at Peak Pilates provides an excellent opportunity for this. Gina is a certified Pink Pilates physiotherapist, offering specialist treatment to breast cancer patients. In her spare time, Gina enjoys keeping fit and healthy, running, skiing and socialising.

 

ELAINE KELLY

Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor

Elaine graduated from the University of Ulster in Ireland with an Honors degree in Physiotherapy. She is an active person who enjoys any form of exercise, particularly Gaelic football. Elaine has a passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy, she believes in the combination of a caring hands-on physiotherapy mixed with Pilates to gain the most effective results. Elaine has completed several advanced courses in sports injury rehab and massage and she has extensive experience working as a physiotherapist with many sports teams competing at a high level. Elaine recently completed courses in dry needling and traditional Thai massage of which she incorporates into her treatments.

 

KATIE HAMILTON

Katie is a recent addition to the team from Ireland. She graduated from Trinity College, Dublin. Katie believes in a warm and caring hands on approach to physiotherapy and is enthusiastic about linking her Pilates experience with exercise rehabilitation. Katie loves any water based activity, including sailing, surfing and wakeboarding. She has represented Ireland in sailing at an international level and has experience working with the Irish youth sailing team.

 

Sara Allen

Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor

With a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from AUT, Sara has a passion for all sport related injuries. She particularly enjoys using a combination of physiotherapy techniques and exercise combined with Pilates for rehabilitation. Sara has previously worked in mental health and rehabilitation centres. She values personal fitness and enjoys social sports and the outdoors.

 

Rebecca Annan

Rebecca is a Pilates instructor at our St Heliers studio. She has work with Peak for over two years now, starting after she completed the Peak Pilates Training course. She enjoys taking group and private classes as well as working out in classes with the other staff members. Outside of peak Rebecca keeps busy with her many artistic projects that she started after finishing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Elam. She is passionate about swimming, snowboarding and having as much fun as possible.

Gretchen graduated from the University of Auckland in 2008 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts majoring in Dance. Gretchen trained as a Pilates instructor and believes it helps her achieve her peak performance for dancing- improving strength, flexibility and posture. Aside from Pilates Gretchen continues to dance with a Pacific contemporary dance group she also enjoys spinning, keeping fit and socialising.

Simone is a Pilates Instructor at both our St Heliers and Newmarket Studios. Having played representative volleyball for NZ for over 10 years, netball for Hong Kong at World Champs in 1991, and 2 years on the NZ beach volleyball Pro Tour she understands the incredible mind and body benefits Pilates offers as a solution not only to those with restricted mobility but also to the elite athlete at the very top of their game. She strongly believes Pilates is adaptable and diverse, for anyone and everyone, and that is its magic! Simone is passionate about anything she does and lives life to the absolute max - fun and laughter are high on the agenda!

Tareeza is a Pilates and fitness instructor. She has a Diploma in massage therapy and teaches Ceroc dancing in which she has held both national and international competition titles. She has also travelled extensively and enjoyed the vibrancy and diversity of many cultures and countries.
